Reporting a wrong number

This is the message we act on fastest. A calculator that returns the wrong answer is treated as a fault, not feedback: we acknowledge it within 1 working day and resolve confirmed errors within 5, and the correction is published with a note of what changed. To let us reproduce it, include the page address, the figures you entered, the result you got, and the result you expected. If your expected figure comes from a bank statement, a tax notice, or an official schedule, say so — that tells us whether the formula is wrong or the rate behind it has changed.

Suggesting a calculator

Tell us the decision you were trying to make, not just the tool you want. “I need to know whether to prepay my loan or invest the same money” is far more useful than “add a prepayment calculator”, because it tells us which numbers actually have to come out of it. Several of the calculators here started as exactly that kind of message.

Rates, rules and dates

Stamp duty, circle rates, tax slabs and exam cut-offs move without much notice, and a state sometimes notifies a change we have not caught. If you have seen an official notification that contradicts something on this site, send the link. We check it against the issuing authority before changing anything — see our editorial policy for how corrections are handled and methodology for how the formulas are built.

What we cannot help with

We cannot give personal financial, tax, legal, or medical advice, and we cannot tell you what to do in your own situation — the calculators are general-purpose tools and the results are estimates. We are not affiliated with any bank, lender, insurer, or government department, and we cannot check the status of your application, refund, or registration with one. For anything binding, take the numbers to a qualified professional or the relevant authority.
